You can count on Mobify!
Who should use Mobify?
Mobify is meant to be used by web designers with basic knowledge of CSS. No programming skills are required. If you're looking for a web designer that can help we suggest you head straight to our
Community Job Board!
What sites are Mobify compatible?
Mobify works best with well-formed HTML and predictable URL patterns. Websites based on WordPress, Drupal, ExpressionEngine and most modern CMS solutions are a great match for Mobify. Blogs, portals, content sites and even web applications can be made mobile-friendly, fast!
How long does it take to mobify a site?
From a few minutes (blog, personal website) to a few hours (high-profile content portal or a web application). Two main tasks of Mobify are content selection for various templates and mobile CSS editing. Both are pre-populated by Mobify to help your site go mobile faster.
How is Mobify different from a plugin like WPTouch?
WPTouch and other CMS plugins provide a great baseline mobile experience for the general audience. Mobify exists to give web designers and publishers absolute control of mobile. You get to pick content, navigation and style the mobile view to perfection. It's a different take, one that's focused on quality, flexibility and seamless integration with the full site.
Your Mobile View
Do I have to mobify new pages every time content is published?
Nope! As long as a template has already been mobified, all future and past pages based on it will be covered automatically. For instance, if you've mobified a single blog entry there won't be a need to mobify new posts in the future.
Which languages are supported?
Mobify is Unicode-friendly, which means it supports languages other than English. In fact, some of the most popular publishers powered by Mobify are located outside of North America - in Mexico, Philippines, China and beyond.
What happens to JavaScript/AJAX?
By default, Mobify does not include desktop JavaScript into the mobile pages. It's possible to add JavaScript to the mobile view through the Mobify interface - this is commonly done for analytics and advertising purposes.
Is Flash supported by Mobify?
Flash is not supported by the majority of mobile phones. Mobify automatically removes embedded flash from the mobile pages. The only exception is YouTube videos, which are shown to compatible handset models such as the iPhone, Android or Palm Pre. The videos are transcoded into thumbnails linked to the mobile YouTube site for older phones.
Can I use my own domain name for the mobile view?
Yes, simply ask your registrar to point a subdomain like "m.yoursite.com" to Mobify! Using a custom domain is great for branding & SEO.
Are forms, sessions & GET parameters supported?
Mobify fully supports forms, sessions and parameters. This means search, user authentication and many other features will work seamlessly for your mobile visitors.
